Retrieval-augmented generation (RAG) is powering a new breed of AI interfaces — but with great flexibility comes messy state. In this talk, we’ll dive into the real-world challenge of managing UI state in apps powered by generative backends. You’ll learn practical patterns to track sources, follow user intent, and tame AI responses, all without reinventing your frontend architecture.

Discover how Expo Continuous Native Generation and Plugins simplify native app development, enabling seamless access to native features while maintaining a streamlined JavaScript workflow

In the face of evolving business needs and rapid technological advancements, building extensible architectures is crucial. This talk underscores the critical importance of designing platforms that not only meet today's requirements but also seamlessly support future innovation.

We'll delve into the architectural choices and design patterns that underpin Workday Guidance, a platform enabling customers to configure user guidance throughout the Workday application. A key focus will be how we prioritised extensibility from the outset, enabling us to swiftly develop the Workday Assistant, an AI-powered copilot that delivers in-context task assistance.

This session will explore how the 2024 updates streamline development processes, enhance performance, and expand compatibility with various platforms, making it an indispensable tool for developers. We'll demonstrate how Expo's improved hot reloading, increased access to native APIs, and superior debugging tools simplify the creation of complex applications.
