The presentation is focused on exploring the innovative concept of Server-Driven User Interface (UI) and its transformative impact on mobile app development. We will dive into the dynamic approach of decoupling UI rendering from client-side code, allowing for real-time updates and modifications without the need for app store updates. It will also provide insights into the advantages of Server-Driven UI, such as enhanced flexibility, improved user experience and highly customisable content delivery.

AI interfaces are starting to outgrow the chatbox. Instead of returning only text, agents can assemble the interface a user needs in real time. The challenge is enabling that flexibility without giving an AI model unrestricted control over the frontend.

This talk presents a bounded architecture for generative UI using React and Google’s A2UI protocol. We’ll explore how agents can stream declarative interface schemas that are validated and mapped onto trusted components from an existing design system. We’ll also cover component contracts, server actions, client-side state, streaming, and the boundary between agent-generated structure and application-controlled behaviour.

Building a server driven UI with React is perfect as Reacts dynamic nature makes it easy to render and update UIs based on API responses but it still requires many round trips over the network. React 19 and RSCs are a perfect solution to this problem! By leveraging the new features in React 19 we can now build an even more performant server driven UI. In this talk I’ll demo how I’ve been able to leverage React 19 and RSCs in an enterprise application to build server driven UIs.

Writing fluid user interfaces becomes more and more challenging as the application complexity increases. Also, in a world with a wide variety of network connections, any user can have a slow experience, and apps that delight users on fast connections can barely be usable on slow ones. Leveraging real-world case studies from small, medium, and enterprise-scale companies, in this workshop, we will:

↝ Have an in-depth overview of the important concepts behind reconciliation and React Fiber and and go through a few magic words we hear a lot, like coroutines, generators, and more.

↝ Explore how proper scheduling can improve your app’s experience by diving into some concurrent React features, understanding their rationales, and how they work under the hood.

↝ Discuss a wide range of performance APIs native to the Web Platform itself.

↝ See how to measure responsiveness, and reliably identify culprits for bad experiences.

↝ Discuss how to apply modern techniques to legacy codebases, via code generation, polyfilling, and many other tips and tricks for large platforms targeting emerging markets.
