This month we're graciously hosted by On, who will be providing pizzas and telling us about how they're using GraphQL for operations and e-commerce. Our erudite MC, Benjie, will be giving one of his famed whirlwind info-dumps about the latest movements in the GraphQL Working Groups. And we've got one more speaker lined up, just waiting on final confirmation... So this promises to be an exciting evening of graphs, gabs and grub, followed swiftly by a swift one at the pub!
Approximate Schedule:
6:00pm - Arrival, networking, pizzas 🍕
6:15pm - Greeting, event overview, code of conduct
6:20pm - Updates from the Working Group - Benjie Gillam, Graphile
6:50pm - Pizza and networking break
7:30pm - TBC: Hear about some of the ways On is utilising GraphQL for operations and e-commerce
8:00pm - Short break
8:15pm - One to many without breaking anyone: evolving a GraphQL schema with many consumers - Gabriela Colombo, Swapcard
8:45pm - Closing notes, Benjie Gillam, Graphile
9:00pm - Continued networking over drinks 🍻 at a local pub

Presentations
Benjie Gillam
This ad-hoc talk is just Benjie (and any other TSC present) riffing about some of the work that's going on in the GraphQL Working Groups currently. Topics covered include:
GraphQL Spec Freeze September 2026 - a new spec cut is coming! Incremental Delivery Schema Coordinates Fragment Arguments Nullability Operation Descriptions Service Capabilities GraphQL-over-HTTP Partial Success Status Code Composite Schemas OpenTelemetry GET INVOLVED!
Gabriela Colombo Alves Longo
Changing a field from "one" to "many" sounds trivial until three different consumers depend on it: an admin studio, a GraphQL API used by web and mobile apps, and a public API used by customers' own integrations.
This talk walks through a real migration on an event technology platform, where a single-value relationship became a multi-value, ordered one. We will cover how we designed the new schema alongside the old one, how we kept existing queries working, how we backfilled data safely, and how we decided when a deprecated field could finally go.
